George Severijn de Veer was born on 25 September 1806 at Curacao. Documents list 1866 as his birth year. Looking at the dates for the rest of the children it seems that the birth year should be 1806. He was the son of
Abraham de Veer and
Aletta Schotborgh. He married
Jannetie Constantia Schotborgh, daughter of
Matthijs Schotborgh and
Helena Jutting, on 6 August 1827 at Paramaribo. He married
Henriette van Genderen, daughter of
Jan van Genderen and
Margaretha Elisabeth Parris, on 24 September 1847 at Utrecht. He died on 4 March 1891 at Maastricht at age 84.
George Severijn de Veer was a secretary for the Government in Curacao, referendary Minister of Colonies, state-councel in the special services, co-founder of the Dutch Association to protect animals. Also he was a knight in the order of the Dutch Lion.
