     Susan Neufeld was born on 11 January 1914 at Dunelm, Saskatchewan. She was the daughter of Johann B. Neufeld and Anna Klassen. Susan Neufeld married Johann (John) Dyck, son of Wilhelm Dyck and Anna Wiens, on 14 November 1948 at Schoenfeldt, Saskatchewan. Susan Neufeld died on 6 June 1980 at Swift Current, Saskatchewan, at age 66. She was buried on 11 June 1980 at Schanzenfeld, Saskatchewan.

     Susan Neufeld was born on 7 March 1936. She was the daughter of William K. Neufeld and Elisabeth Fehr. Susan Neufeld married Terrence McPhee on 24 October 1959. Susan Neufeld died on 4 November 1987 at age 51.

     Tina Neufeld was born. She married Abraham Ratzlaff, son of Jacob Ratzlaff and Agatha Quiring.

     Tina Neufeld married Heinrich Janzen, son of Isaak N. Janzen and Maria Braun, on 21 November 1948.

     Trevor Lee Neufeld is the son of Edward Neufeld and Julianna Grace Janzen. Trevor Lee Neufeld married Ariana Rae Isaak on 6 July 2002 at Steinbach, Manitoba.

     Trudy Lynn Neufeld is the daughter of Jake Neufeld and Helen Denise Fehr. Trudy Lynn Neufeld married George Brendon Peters on 9 May 1999.

     Valerie Lynn Neufeld married Jeremiah Timothy Paul Penner, son of Walter Ruben Penner and Helena Wiebe, on 9 July 1977.

     Valerie Mae "Val" Neufeld is the daughter of John H. Neufeld and Eva Marie Schmidt. Valerie Mae "Val" Neufeld married Timothy Joe Froese, son of John G. Froese and Mary Toews, on 22 April 1989 at Winnipeg, Manitoba.

     Verna Neufeld is the daughter of Peter A. Neufeld and Katharina Fehr. Verna Neufeld married Robert Taylor on 10 July 1971.

     Verna Neufeld married Dennis Robert Peters, son of David William Peters and Anna Loewen, on 11 October 1957 at Waldheim, Saskatchewan.

     Verna Jacquiline Neufeld is the daughter of Jacob K. Neufeld and Margaret Friesen. Verna Jacquiline Neufeld and Douglas James Robert Foster were common law on 17 September 1966.

     Wade William Neufeld is the son of William (Bill) Neufeld and Martha J. Neudorf.

     Wanda Neufeld married Larry Fehr, son of John Fehr and Tina Schroeder, on 5 September 1982.

     Wesley David Neufeld is the son of Cornelius Neufeld and Margaret Friesen. Wesley David Neufeld married Kathy Loewen on 24 September 1994 at La Crete, Alberta.

     Wilhelm Neufeld is the son of Franz Neufeld and Maria Reimer.

     William "Bill" Neufeld is the son of Johann K. Neufeld and Helena Teichroeb. William "Bill" Neufeld married Helen "Lena" Enns on 11 July 1964 at Winnipeg, Manitoba.

     William (Bill) Neufeld is the son of William K. Neufeld and Elisabeth Fehr. William (Bill) Neufeld married Martha J. Neudorf, daughter of Jacob P. Neudorf and Anna Klassen, on 12 October 1968.

     William Joel Neufeld is the son of Archibald Jacob (Archie) Neufeld and Sylvia Roseann Neustaeter.

     William K. Neufeld was born on 4 April 1908 at Plum Coulee, Manitoba. He was the son of Johann B. Neufeld and Anna Klassen. William K. Neufeld married Elisabeth Fehr, daughter of Johann Fehr and Helena Olfert, on 5 November 1933. William K. Neufeld died on 25 December 1975 at Wymark, Saskatchewan, at age 67. He was buried.

          WILLIAM AND ELIZABETH NEUFELD FAMILY

     William (Bill) was born at Plum Coulee, Manitoba on April 4, 1908. He moved to Rush Lake, Saskatchewan in 1911 with his parents, and then lived as squatters in Lac Pelletier and Montford districts, where he received his only three months of schooling. The family settled on SW 36-13-14 which was rented from the owner Johnny Bell.
     William's parents were Anna Klassen and John Neufeld. His brothers and sisters are John, Abe, Jake, Elizabeth, Sarah, Susie and Mary and his step-brothers were George, John, Abe and Corny Dyck. His natural mother passed away in 1926, and his father married Susan Dyck (nee Kaunhoffen).
     Mom remembers some of the stories Dad told of his past. The Neufelds were very shy and timid because they seldom saw other people. One time visitors came over and Dad and Betty, and John were alone and cooking their own dinner, so they decided to hide their potatoes under the cook stove. After the people left they went to eat their dinner but the cats beat them to it.
     Dad remember when stooking for their father, they took bread, sugar and coffee as their food for a full day. Dad also worked for the C.P.R. building fences and was paid a very small wage for each pole.
     In 1931 William met Elizabeth Fehr and they dated for two years.
     Elizabeth was born on September 30, 1915 on her parents' homestead NE 26-13-14. She lived with her parents on that homestead until her marriage to William. Her parents' occupation was mixed farming with which she helped.
     Elizabeth's parents were Helen Olfert and John Fehr. Elizabeth's brothers and sisters were Henry, John, Jake, Peter, Isaac, Sarah, Helen and Jessie.
     Mom remembers when she and Jessie took a small bag of wheat to sell for some treats at the nearest general store which was five miles away. After walking a mile they were caught by their father and taken home, thankful that there was no punishment, but no treats either.
     A stray cat came to the Fehr farm which Jessie and Mom decided to claim, so they hid it in the wash stand along with their own cat in the hopes that they would get used to each other. After lots of screaming and noise inside the wash stand, the girls opened the door and the stray cat decided to leave in a hurry and was never seen again. It upset the girls that the cat chose not to claim them.
     Another story was when Mom went to get oat sheaves from the fields to feed the cattle and she fell from the buggy and broke her shoulder. The chiropractor, being the only medical attention she got, kept her from doing any work for approximately a year.
     On November 5, 1933 Elizabeth married William NEUFELD at her parent's home. Their first home was at Wymark on SW 29-13-13 where they had a filling station and did mixed farming. Later they moved to Chortitz where they shared a house with Isaac Heinrichs. Bill got the mail carrying job in Wymark so they decided to move to Wymark on a 40 acre lot alongside the railroad track. Elizabeth inherited this 40 acres from her parents. Bill delivered mail to R.R. #1 at Simmie for four years. He received $29.00 a month as a mail carrier. This was all the income they had besides the little cream and eggs they sold. They had five children to feed at the time. After four years at this wage Bill requested a raise of $21.00 and lost his job to Isaac Friesen from Schanzenfelt.
     Their mixed farming consisted of milking cows, raising pigs, and chickens. The baby chicks were kept in the kitchen around the cook stove until they were old enough and strong enough to be put out in the chicken barn. Later they were raised in the basement in a starter pen warmed by a heat lamp. In the fall the chickens were butchered and some were kept for laying hens.
     Pig butchering bees were held in the fall for meat for the year and dad and Mom were invited often because he was relied upon to eviscerate the pigs. Mom and Dad kept a large garden which both of them enjoyed very much. Dad would start all the bedding plants in the house early in the year.
     Dad was the veterinarian, shoe repairman and barber of Wymark for many years. He had a big treadle leather sewing machine and charged a few cents for fixing shoes, 25 cents for a hair cut and was called quite often when a cow was calving or needed vaccinations.
     Summer fuel for the cook stove sometimes consisted of dried manure which was gathered from the pasture by the children. This was stored in the garage close to the house. Coal was purchased for winter fuel.
     In the wintertime when the blizzards got so bad you could hardly see and the roads were impassable, Dad would walk to the school to get the children and walk them home. the children almost froze because the girls usually wore only brown cotton stockings to keep their legs warm. Sometimes they had to stop at Banman's so they could warm their wrists.
     Bill and Elizabeth bought their first and only car which was a 1952 Chev model. Later that same year they were totally hailed out. Bill and Elizabeth were grateful for the vegetables given by neighbouring farmers who had not been hit by the hail.
     In 1945 they purchased 80 acres of land from Mrs. Abe (Helen) Penner for the sum of $1,200. In total Bill and Elizabeth owned and farmed eight and one-half quarter-sections of land. They retired on the 40 acre homestead in Wymark and sold the land to their sons. Elizabeth is living there today.
     Bill and Elizabeth have a family of 13 children, five sons and eight daughters: Helen, Susan, John (Jack), William (Bill), Elizabeth (Betty), Isaac (Bob), Marion (Toots), Esther, Peter, Sadie, Archibald, Judith and Katherine. (See separate histories).
     William Neufeld died on December 25, 1975, at his home in Wymark after a lengthy illness. Funeral services were held December 29, 1975 at1:30 p.m., at the Sommerfeld Mennonite Church, Schoenfeld, Saskatchewan with Rev. David Wiebe and Rev. George Klassen officiating. Burial followed at the Schanzenfelt Cemetery.

          ELIZABETH NEUFELD

     In November 1987, Mom was moved into the Palliser Regional Care Centre from her Wymark home because she was no longer able to care for herself. Her disease had confined her to a wheel chair and it was too difficult to get around. She had a hard time adjusting at first but after awhile she made close friends with other patients, and staff and "Sask Tel". Every morning and then again afternoon and often evenings she would make short phone calls to her children within the local calling area to check on the farming and gardening progress. Even though she was in the Care Centre her ambitions could still get us up and getting work done. In late February 1993, Mom was diagnosed with colon cancer which had progressed onto her liver. Having been given three months to live, she made funeral arrangements, requesting that her children look after everything from building the casket to sewing her clothing, having her five sons as pallbearers. We were left with little time to mourn her passing in the time from her death to the funeral. She died on April 19, 1993. Funeral services were held at the Sommerfeld Mennonite Church and her body was laid to rest at the Schanzenfeld Cemetery.
     I spent some nights with her in the last week and in spite of her deteriorating condition she would wake and ask me what we were working at on the farm, as the seeding time was fast approaching. Her interests in our lives both professional and spiritual were an ever present encouragement.

     Willy Neufeld is the son of Cornelius Neufeld and Katharina Unrau.

     Wyatt Steven Jacob Neufeld is the son of Jeremy Peter Jacob Neufeld and Kristine Suzanne Medos.

     Zachary John Neufeld is the son of Kelly James Neufeld and Linso Mary Wong.

     Zachary Lee Neufeld is the son of Leonard Lee Neufeld and Shelley Lee Harder.
